School, practice, rehearsals, concerts – talented young musicians take on a many commitments in the interests of a solo career. Their thoroughly organised lives have little in common with those of their schoolmates. This often leads to a lack of contact to people of their own age. This is precisely the point at which the LGT Young Soloists project gets to work: rising stars as a team or, as Ole Pflüger calls it, soloists in a herd. His article clearly shows how the young women and men not only benefit from cooperation with like-minded persons in artistic and human terms, but also learn step by step to make their way in the world of music and establish important contacts, because “there is no conservatory that teaches networking”.
