Auditions – young talents present themselves

The equivalent of what for most people is an interview is an audition in the case of artists. On 2 July, auditions for the Young Soloists were held at the Musikhaus Jecklin in Zurich. Over 60 young musicians signed up. In the end, sixteen talented young string players, from London, The Hague, Tel Aviv, Prague, Kattowitz, Berlin and Paris, among other locations, were invited to audition. The jury was composed of the musical directors of the LGT Young Soloists Alexander Gilman and Marina Seltenreich, as well as the ensemble members David Nebel and Leo Esselson. Anna Krzyzak of Poland on the viola, and Vilem Vlček of the Czech Republic on cello, impressed the jury so much that they were invited to participate in a project on a trial-basis. Both passed the trial period with flying colors and are now an integral part of the ensemble.
